Yeah...so as usual - we in the UK are still on Heroes Season 1 which is currently running on BBC 2 (already finished running on Sci fi a few months back) - however after a quick browse just realised that the 2nd Season has already started in the US. OBVIOUSLY I have no intention of waiting and will therefore be on http://www.tv-links.co.uk/ to keep up (my lack of patience with this kinda stuff is astonishing!!)
If it wasn't for the fact that such a wonderful country was ran by a complete retard - I'd move to America in a shot to rid myself of always being behind with pretty much EVERYTHING!!!
Global Releases people...they're the way forward!!!

Microsoft...WTF!?!?
Just a quick post. But what the F*@! are Microshaft playing at with these .NET releases. I'm still using verion 2.0 and they're now release version 3.5!!!
WANKERS!
Where are the old days when you had a chance to get used to shit before they released a new version. Whats the frequency now....every 6 months?
I say again...WANKERS!!!

Mary Jane, Joe Rogan and the Prada Phone
So I've got this Prada phone which I've had for like 6 months now. At the time the iPhone was all the jazz and everyone was waiting for it's arrival (including me) but with O2 having exclusivity and me having been with Orange for so many years...it's either a case of switching to O2 (NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!) or waiting/hoping that they'll start selling a version that's compatible with all networks (which as per this post...is unlikely to happen). Anyways - popped into Orange today cos I'm fed up with this freaking thing! The novelty has totally worn off now and I just want a regular phone! No bells, no whistles...just something small that does what it says on the tin. Anyways - after WASTING 20 minutes of my lunch break the chic tells me it'll cost me £150 bones to upgrade. I dunno...seems a bit steep to rid myself of an irritation but I gotta admit I'm thinking about it!!
Meanwhile - I found this article on marijuana - freaking excellent read and in my opinion...they should make alcohol illegal and take the Amsterdam route of legalising the weed! Let's face facts - there's been no recorded deaths due to the usage of Marijuana in the history of man EVER!! (that's actually true). And if you're sat with your homies higher than giraffe pussy...you ain't starting no fights n stuff - the most you'll be doin' is thinking of the best place to order some munchies!
Finally - for those of you who live in the UK - did you know that Joe Rogan was a stand up comedian?? I heard Mike Goldberg mention it on one of the UFC events I was watching explaining why the dude wasn't there. Anyways - for those of you who don't watch UFC - it's the geezer from Fear Factor basically. But I managed to find a 60 minute vid of him of Google Video and I gotta admit - FUNNY AS SHIT!!! Watch it - and there's a download available for the iPOD and PSP too.

Techy Stuff
Tell you something - this email bloggin is pretty handy (if it works that is). Anyways - spotted a few nice bits I thought I would share :)
Fuser
Found a site called Fuser - released a few days ago. Basically consolidates all of your email accounts into 1 manageable monthly payment...erm...sorry - touch of cross over there. But yeah...looks alright - they seem to like Java in them parts though. Only problem is - I was kinda looking to "cheat the system" at work. Not like I'm on all days browsing the internet and emailin' my homies - but it would be cool to be able to access my hotmail, gmail etc without being blocked by the company filter. Only thing is - from what I can tell - they're letting the client connect to Hotmail when you add the account as opposed to the server doing it - so I think it's a case of - if you're blocked from viewing hotmail where you are - this won't help :( Still looks nice though.
iPod Touch
One of the guys came in today with his brand spanking new iPod Touch which pisses me off. In fact - that don't piss me off...what pisses me off is the fact that I spend 250 bones on a 30 GB ipod - for apple to re-release the latest version where the smallest size available is 80gb and for the same price I paid for mine!!! anyways - bitching aside - this thing is sweet! They've basically taken the iPhone and:
It works sweet...very intuitive and the multi-touch display is bad ass! Only thing that pisses me off about it....all this bad ass technology...and the capacity is like 16GB. Sorry Apple...but you've sold 1 less iPod because of that! Either add memory expansion capability OR come up with a bigger size - but I wouldn't get out of bed for 16GB - if it can't fit your library on it then HELL NO! I ain't sitting there for hours on end unchecking items in iTunes just so that I can get enough shit to fit onto it - been there - done that - seen the light - don't wanna do it again!!
Oooh - CNET have done a nifty review on it n all.

- Added a smaller/thinner case
- Removed the proximity detection (that cool thing that makes the phone fade to black when you put it near your ear)
- Left in ambient light detection (checks the ambient lighting and changes the contrast of your iPOD screen to suit)
- Left in the accelerometer (detects when you change your view from portrait to landscape and vice versa and changes the display to suit)
- Removed Messaging and Phone calls
- Removed some other crap (that you probably wouldn't use anyway).
Oooh - CNET have done a nifty review on it n all.

What the hell??
So I'm finally back to work today - although it seems to be one thing after the other. I think my body is broken!! Getting over the flu - pretty much all sweet and come Friday I'll be sound in that regard, although my freaking leg is screwed!! No idea how...but the more I seem to move around the more it seems to hurt! Can barely walk at the moment and it's that bad I've actually made an appointment at the doctors (1st time in like 10 years!) - so yeah...needs to get this sorted - hobbling up to come bird to get your mac on don't really sound appealing in any sense...oh and the pain is a bitch n all ;)

Oh it's nice to be wanted (part 2)
Yeah...so totally forgot to mention the crack with me interview. Turns out they couldn't afford me - good in one sense...crap in another - but I'm not about to sell myself short now am I?
Meanwhile - still confined to my bed, although I do feel better today. Gonna go drink copius amounts of water and SLEEP!!

Oh how life sucks!
Yeah - so I been in bed since Saturday feeling like complete shat. Had a game of squash which probably was not the best idea and I reckon that sent me over the edge (so to speak) - so for the past 3 days I've been stuck in my bed with the flu...sleeping and watching day time TV. On a good note - I've finally finished the 2nd series of Lost (Yeah - well Heroes ain't on anymore so I hear this is the next best thing). Anyways - what a way to end a series...kinda pisses me off with all the questions. At the end of series 1 it's like..."ooohh...what's down the hatch" - then come series 2 it's like "What happened to Locke and Eiko, does Michael come back with Walt, what happens to Sawyer, Jack and Kate....does Hugo get back OK?" - Piss taking bastards!!! That's why I prefer 24...cos even though they leave you wanting for more...they give you some answers to make you feel better.
Oh - I've also decided that Yunjin Kim is going to be my future wife!

Apple - evil swine!
Apparently - 49% of techies fall asleep on the Job. Excuse me for saying so but what a loada shite!! Unless you're some dude in a server room on his jack all day with nish to do...it ain't gonna happen! Most offices are "open plan" these days anyway so where on earth we'd find the time to nap is beyond me!
Meanwhile - It looks like I won't be getting an iPhone afterall. I was checking out this article on the BBC news web site and it seems Apple have released an update that will disable relevant communication features on the phone if it has been unlocked! Selfish set of bastards!! My opinion? This gives Microsoft a chance to shine with something equally as good and that works on ALL networks...they'll earn brownie points for that one.
Finally...while I'm getting into this whole "blogging thing" and while I'm a very big fan of Google (they make nice stuff!) - I want a propod!!! It's a flash blog basically....looks well nice and was developed by the 1st inductees to the FWA hall of fame - Fantasy Interactive. I'm on the list for Beta testing and Think Swedish (what I think the propod will look like) looks well sweet...so I want!! I want!!

Oh it's nice to be wanted
Day was pretty alright - usual kinda thing...wake up, work, go home...cool thing is - got a phone call from an pretty cool design co. Looks like Timmy Boy scored himself an interview. Woo Ha!
Oooh - in other geeky news, been checking out Quake Wars - it looks the BIZ! Not go the demo yet but like the sad little geek I am...I'll find everything I can to bitch about something so obviously superb in programming and graphical display while simultaneously whining about how I should have spent the extra 40 bones for that nVidia graphics card! :(
Oooh - and checkout Halo 3 - Looks BOSS, although it looks like some fool in the packaging dept. dropped a knacker!

Fat blind dates and the Zulu army
Right - so was in Birmingham this weekend for my best mates birthday. Was a ton of fun! Anyways - as you may find the title of this particular entry a little weird here's the explanation...
We have a visitor, he's a friend of my best mate and is an absolute monster of a man! - a geezer by the name of "Big Ste". The dudes arms are like the size of my torso and he looks like he only leaves the gym for bits of fresh air or to eat the daily farm of cows he must be eating to maintain that size! The kinda geezer you'd prefer as a mate rather than an enemy lets put it that way. But after I get speaking to him - he's a sound geezer. Anyways - being as I'm a supporter of Birmingham City - and Ste is a member of the Zulu army - he gave me a signed book of "Zulus". Been bugging my mate to sort it for ages. Anyways - the note written in the front of the book reads:
Anyways - we arrange to meet in town and as I'm walking through - I see this chic that kinda looks like her and has a nice bod to boot. I say hello and she proceeds to tells me to "Fuck off!" - I realise it's not her. I carry on walking and a few moments later I receive a phone call from the chic I'm meant to be meeting. She tells me "I think I've just walked passed you" so I turn around thinking to myself "it must have been the hot chic that just told me to do one"and proceed to ask where about she it. She tells me "behind the phone box" which is in my line of site by now so I put the phone down. Out she comes and my word!! There is a saying a friend of mine uses which popped into my head at that very moment. "Sounds fit on the phone, add 10 stone!" and my oh my was that equation accurate. "THIN MY ARSE" I thought...no kidding she must have been about 20 stone drip dry and everything inside me is saying "RUN!! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! IT'S NOT LIKE SHE CAN CHASE YOU NOW IS IT???". Anyways - after a little more thought I decided that wouldn't be the right thing to do so I end up telling her the score without being mean about it and saw the funny side of it pretty much right away (this kinda shit happens to me ALL THE TIME!!).
But either way - I'm well chuffed with my book and I can finally finish it now (my mate's had the thing for damn near 18 months) - and with the success of the military type operation - was a good weekend all round!

So - now onto the reason for the seemingly cryptic note. About 18 months ago I was on a dating site and ended up meeting a chic who turned out to be not so truthful about her size. The picture of her on the web site was pretty alright although it was only a face shot (I should have figured it from that - but her profile said THIN! What was I to do?)"Tim,
ain't it funny how all birds sound fit on the phone.
All the best
Big Ste
Zulu Army"

UFC Baby!
UFC 76 is on this weekend! If you live in the UK - Bravo, 9pm Sunday. Got to say, the main motivation for watching this one (I'd watch it anyway) is to see Lyoto Machida in action. Saw him for the 1st time a few months back and this dude is HARDCORE!! He some how manages to barely get hit while looking graceful at the same time...almost like a choreographed movie. However, considering the dudes dad is some Shotokan Karate master type dude and he's been learning this stuff since he was 3 - it's to be expected. Anyways - be interesting to see how he does in the light heavy weight division.
Oh yeah...and Chuck Liddell is kickin off with the Dean o Mean...Keith Jardine.

It could be me but I doubt it
Yeah ok - so I've ran out of protein shake this morning and ended up missing my ritual liquid brekky before work - so by the time I get to work I'm STARVING but have little time to even eat any food. Then a certain someone in the Co. who happens to be quite high up (as in REALLY high up) decides to take things a little too far and grab me by the collar like I'm some kid. Now this is not the 1st time this has happened and being as this dudes like the major cheese...I don't say shit. But I then sit there at my desk for the next few hours MAJORLY PISSED about the entire situation and then next thing you know I'm getting quizzed about some coding I've done and why it was done a certain way - which if asked at any other time I wouldn't have minded but because I've already got the arsehole that kinda makes me wanna kick a cat! AND THEN - Being as I ain't eaten and I'm damn near starving...I decide to go get a black coffee (I figured 2 birds - 1 stone...supress the appetite, calm me nerves)...and after bringing it back to my desk and taking quite literally 2 sips - i knock the cup with my elbow and a damn near full cup of black coffee spills all over the desk, paper work the lot! By this time I ain't really suprised so I'm just sat there looking at it while the rest of the team sits there in silence. Finally - one of them pulls out some tissue for me (bless his cotton socks) and I clean the shit up. But oh no...it's not TOTALLY CLEAN - therefore as I'm coding away I go to lift my arm and it WREAKS of coffee and is kinda sticking to the desk. All of this before mid-day. By the end of the day I was pretty alright I guess...a bit moody from being hungry n stuff and then on the way home remember that I totally forgot to buy some more protein!
So all in all...I had the distinct impression that people were going out of their way to piss me off. I doubt that's the case but it certainly felt that way.
Other than that...day was great...nothing to complain about.
Anyways - that is/was my 1st blog entry...gonna do my best to ensure this does not turn out like my last blog which was a forum for me to bitch and moan about the things I hate in the world...but hey!! I'm only human ;)
